Tuesday 31/03/26 - I Love My Friends!!
Time: 17:59pm
Hello!
It’s Tuesday, not Sunday, but better late than never! 🥳 I was pretty busy this Sunday seeing my family because it was my first day back home after three weeks at university. I’m back now for Easter, but it feels like I was away for a lot longer than just three weeks. When I’m in university, it feels like my home, but then as soon as I go back to my real home, uni feels like a distant memory. I’ll be home for three weeks before it’ll be time to go back again.
My weekly Recap for 23/03/26 – 29/03/26:This last week, therefore, was my final week of university before the easter break. Looking back at all my journal entries from this week, I am happy to report that I was happy most of the week 😃 Well, happy and tired. My main notes seem to be “I LOVE MY FRIENDS!”, “I’ve been feeling happy!”, “Today was a good day” and “YAY!”. I am really enjoying university right now, as you can tell 😊 Likely because I don’t actually have much work to do in my foundation year, so I can spend most my time going on walks and talking with friends.
I had no lectures on Monday or Tuesday (I said my foundation year was easy!), so I had a 4 day weekend! 🥳 Usually this would actually be a bad thing, because it would mean I have to be alone for more days feeling lonely and sorry for myself 🥲 I really rely on structure and routine, so breaks from my regular schedule often just mess with my productivity and overall sense of self. Luckily though, I made plans with my friends this time around 🙂 I am very lucky to have a meal plan at my university, meaning I am given two meals a day in a big dining hall. This gives me the opportunity to meet up with my friends for meals, which also helps to give me the motivation to actually eat regularly and well. One thing I did this week was buy jam and marmalade to take into the dining hall with me so that I could make sandwiches with the bread they give us in there. Maybe not the healthiest, but it’s fun and I feel like Paddington Bear 🐻
Some of my friends from home even came to visit me! 😄 We went shopping, and I bought two new Littlest Pet Shops and The Diary of a Wimpy Kid Do It Yourself Book. I like to buy myself new LPS when I reach personal milestones, so the one I bought on Wednesday from HMV was for the great improvement I have had with my mental health over the past 500 days 🩷 I bought the ‘Do It Yourself’ book as a fun and simple project that I can complete over my three week easter break. We also went to the arcade! I used the tickets I won to buy a slinky, which I have been bringing everywhere with me (to lectures, dinner, on walks – yes, I know I look weird). I am so lucky to have friends from home who will get the train for over an hour to visit me. I’ve had five whole friends come visit me now! 🙂
The week before last was super sunny ☀️ but this week was a bit more gloomy, so I wore my bright yellow hoodie so that I could be the sun ⭐ A good thing about this though was that on Wednesday it hailed! I love the hail so much; it’s my favourite weather. I know that this is likely because I am from the UK, and the hail is not too bad here, but I know in other countries it can be painful or even dangerous, especially to animals. I just love the sound it makes when it bounces off the floor and the feeling of it hitting my skin. I got multiple messages from friends telling me “IT’S HAILING!” and it made me so happy to see something I love reminding people of me. I also had a friend tell me that I’m pretty this week, and another friend tell me that he missed me over the 4 day weekend, which was very nice. My friends are all very nice 🩷 I got to partner with two of my best uni friends in our biology practical and it was a lot of fun. I used to be so stressed out by practicals in college because I’m so slow at following instructions and I get scared about working in groups in case I annoy people by being too incompetent. University has made me feel much more confident in so many ways. I talk to so many new people now and I have pride in my academics, which is starting to reflect in my grades 🙂 🙂 🙂
I got the train home on Saturday afternoon, and then spent the weekend with my family. Even though I love university, I am happy to be home again and to see my family and my dogs and my gecko and my big bed and my clean shower with temperature-regulated water. My first week of easter is looking pretty busy: I’m working three days, which is good because I have been spending lots of money recently. I just need to make sure I also have enough time for my assignments and revision. I have LOTS of uni work due in the weeks after the easter break 😣 Hopefully I am able to follow a plan so that I can get my work done without feeling too overwhelmed by it all.
Goals for this week:🟪 Survive the three days of work I have this week.
🟪 Follow a plan for completing uni work.
🟪 Start to fill out my ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid Do It Yourself’ book.
Thank you for listening!
